Contractor Membership Terms

Last updated: June 2026 · Version 2026-06

These Contractor Membership Terms apply when you pay for an annual NL Tradepost membership. They supplement our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By completing membership checkout, you agree to all three documents.

1. Membership and access

NL Tradepost offers a paid annual membership for contractors who want a business profile on the platform, access to homeowner inquiries, and use of the job board. Membership is optional for browsing the site but required to maintain an active contractor listing.

We may update features included in membership from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on our website or communicated to active members.

2. Fees and payment

Membership is billed at $300.00 CAD plus applicable HST (currently $345.00 CAD total in Newfoundland and Labrador) for one membership term.

Payments are processed by Stripe (debit or credit card) or by Interac e-Transfer to payments@nltradepost.ca. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. You authorize us and Stripe to charge the payment method you provide for the amount shown at checkout.

Prices may change for future terms. Any price change applies to renewals after we publish the new rate, not to a term you have already paid for.

3. Term and renewal

Your membership is valid for twelve (12) months from the date payment is successfully processed.

Membership does not renew automatically. Before your term ends, we may send a reminder to renew. To stay listed after your term expires, you must complete checkout again at the then-current rate.

If your membership expires, your profile may be hidden from public search and job board access may be suspended until payment is received.

4. Refunds

Membership fees are generally non-refundable once payment is processed, except where required by applicable law or where we agree otherwise in writing.

If you believe you were charged in error, contact us promptly at payments@nltradepost.ca. We will review legitimate billing disputes in good faith.

5. Your profile and representations

You are responsible for the accuracy of your business profile, including trade categories, service area, credentials, insurance, licences, photos, and contact details.

You represent that you have the right to use any business name, logo, and images you upload, and that information you provide about qualifications is truthful and can be substantiated on request.

Do not impersonate another business, use misleading credentials, or list services you are not qualified or licensed to perform where a licence is required in Newfoundland and Labrador.

6. Acceptable use

As a member, you agree to:

  • Respond to inquiries professionally and in a timely manner where possible.
  • Use the platform for legitimate contracting business in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Follow our Safety guidelines and applicable laws.
  • Not spam homeowners, scrape the platform, or attempt to disrupt other users.
  • Not post false reviews or manipulate ratings.

We do not charge commissions on jobs you win through NL Tradepost. You may conduct business off-platform, but you must still comply with these terms while your profile is active on our site.

7. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove a listing, with or without refund, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, our Terms of Use, our Safety guidelines, or applicable law; if your profile contains false or harmful content; or if payment cannot be collected for a renewal.

We may also remove inactive or incomplete profiles that have not been maintained.

8. No guarantee of leads or income

Membership provides visibility and tools. We do not guarantee a minimum number of inquiries, jobs, or revenue. Results depend on your profile, trade demand, location, responsiveness, and market conditions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NL Tradepost is not liable for lost profits, lost business, or indirect damages arising from your membership or use of the platform. Our total liability related to a membership term is limited to the fees you paid for that term.

Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Contractor Membership Terms. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Changes apply to new purchases and renewals after posting. Your current paid term continues under the terms in effect when you paid, except where a change is required by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

12. Contact
